Acousmatic music is in a rather paradoxical situation. This is explained by Denis Dufour in this short interview with Jacques Bonnaure. Acousmatic crosses many artistic practices but it is difficult to be recognized as such. Although abandoned by public institutions and denigrated by part of the French music scene, this art has found its audience and is developing in a dynamic way both in France and abroad. In this article, we find Dufour's impetus and commitment to an art that he describes as "new and autonomous".
